Terms

The maps are free. An account is optional. The site carries no ads and is not affiliated with any game studio.
What this is
Atlas draws the political map of several grand strategy games. Each map is accurate to the game itself: the build reads every border from the game's own data.
Every map, every start date and the political map mode are free to use. You can use them without an account. The other map modes are part of a subscription.
Accounts
An account uses an identity from Google, Discord, Twitch, GitHub, Patreon or a one-use email link. Atlas has no password for you to manage.
Keep access to your sign-in method secure. Do not use an account to attack the service or to break the law.
You can sign out or delete your account from the Account page. Atlas can suspend an account that attacks the service. A suspension does not remove access to the free maps.
Paid tools
Every map, every start date and the political mode are free, with no account. A subscription adds the other map modes and the tools that run on your own save file. The tools are the save reader, the ledger and each future tool. A subscription covers one map or all of them.
A paid map page is a self-contained file. If you save it to your computer, it keeps working there after your subscription ends. The subscription pays for the updates, each new map and the tools that run on this site.
A single-map subscription names its map when you buy it, or when you connect a Patreon pledge. That choice is final. A second map needs a second subscription.
Billing, cancellation and refunds
The price on the Account page is the price you pay, for each period. PayPal shows it again before you approve, in your currency where it converts. Atlas tells you about a price change before the renewal that it applies to.
PayPal bills a subscription at the start of each period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. A Patreon pledge follows the Patreon billing cycle and the Patreon terms. Cancel at any time from the Account page, through that provider. Your tools stay open to the end of the period you paid for, and no further charge follows.
A PayPal subscription or a Patreon pledge can start with a free week. You give a payment method at the start, and the provider charges nothing for 7 days. At the end of the week, the provider charges the first period, and the subscription then renews each period until you cancel it. Cancel before the week ends, and the provider charges nothing. Each account gets one free week, through one provider, and the Account page shows the offer only when your account can take it.
If the first charge after the free week fails, your tools close at once. They open again when a payment succeeds. If a later renewal fails, your tools stay open for 3 days after the period you paid for.
Your tools open as soon as the provider confirms the payment, usually within a minute. When you start a subscription you ask Atlas to start the service at once. The law of your country can give you a right to withdraw from a digital service within 14 days. You agree that this right ends when the service starts.
Atlas does not refund a subscription payment, except where the law of your country gives you a right to one. Cancel before the next renewal to stop the next charge. Write to the contact address below with any billing question, and within 14 days of the charge if you think a charge is wrong.
Write before you dispute a charge with PayPal or your bank. If you dispute first, Atlas can end the subscription and its access while the dispute runs.
Not affiliated
A fan project. Not affiliated with Paradox Interactive or Digital Extremes.
Game names, country names, logos and interface art are the property of their owners. They appear here to identify the game a map draws, and to illustrate it.
Game data and game art
The build computes the maps from data files in a copy of each game that the site owner owns. It measures a border from a province bitmap. It does not copy a border from a picture.
The Europa Universalis IV map is the one exception, and these terms name it as one. It reproduces interface art from the game so that a panel looks like the panel it stands for. That art belongs to Paradox Interactive.
If you hold rights in any material shown here and you want it removed, write to the address below. The site owner will remove it.
What you may do
Read the maps, share the links, and take screenshots. Quote a figure and say where it came from.
Do not present the maps as an official product of any game studio. Do not attack the site, and do not use it in a way that breaks the law where you are.
Your save files
A saved game you open here stays yours and stays on your computer. Your browser reads it and never uploads it. The Privacy page explains what enforces that.
If you share a map, you give Atlas permission to store it and to show it to anyone who has the link. Do not put offensive text in a save that you share. Atlas can remove a shared map without notice.
No warranty
We provide the maps as they are, with no warranty of any kind.
A map can be wrong. The build uses one version of one game, and a game patch moves borders. A save written on a different version of the game describes a different world. Do not rely on a map here for anything that matters.
To the extent the law allows, the site owner is not liable for any loss that follows from using this site.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The date at the top changes with them. The public commit history of the project records every change.
